From a single shophouse to a house of Allah.
THE BEGINNING
Masjid An Nahl began as a ruko – a shophouse – within The Icon. Its owner, Bapak Deni Daruri, opened the space as a musholla so that neighbours would have a place to pray. It was a simple act of generosity, meant to meet a simple need.
FROM MUSHOLLA TO MASJID
Over time, more jamaah came to pray. The musholla grew into a masjid, managed by a Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid (DKM). Activities flourished with Friday prayers, kajian, and community events like blood drives and Qur’an classes for children.
GROWING TO MEET THE NEED
The jamaah continued to grow – especially at Friday prayers – until the masjid needed more room. By the grace of Allah and through the donations of the jamaah, the neighbouring shophouse was purchased, and the masjid expanded to welcome all who came.
YAYASAN
In 2023, Yayasan Masjid An Nahl The Icon was established, taking over from the DKM to manage all of the
masjid’s activities. Bapak H. Imam Syafi’i was appointed as Ketua Yayasan, with members of the jamaah leading
each division. Adjustments were made across several areas, all with one aim: to serve the jamaah better.
